 Cable manufacturer Tratos Cavi SpA will be exhibiting a range of its railway cables at EXPO Ferroviaria 2010 (Stand 1445), Italy’s only exhibition dedicated entirely to the railway industry.
Tratos Cavi specialises in the production of power, signalling, control and telecommunications cables for a range of industries, including the railway sector. The focus is on technological innovation and innovative design in both off the shelf product and bespoke cable.
EXPO Ferroviaria 2010 is being held at Lingotto Fiere, Turin, Italy 8th-10th June.

 Cable manufacturer and supplier Tratos Ltd. has won the largest order in the world for reeling cable for high speed cranes. The Tratosflex-ESDB cable is being used in 38 ZPMC cranes at the latest Busan Port terminal in Korea.
Busan Port is the world’s fifth busiest container port and largest trans shipment port in North East Asia. The Port uses state-of-the-art facilities to enable it to handle more than 13 million TEU annually through active exchange with 500 ports in 100 countries, including the latest generation high speed container cranes.

 At Tratos we are not only committed to reducing the impact of our products on the environment, but also our actions. Which is why we are pleased to announce we have commenced a trial of a “Hybrid” car as part of our company fleet.
The driver of our first Hybrid vehicle – a Honda Insight – has reported back that it’s a relaxing, comfortable car, although it took a while to get used to the engine cutting out whenever he comes to a stop. The personal financial benefit compared to his previous vehicle has also been a pleasant welcome. We will be looking at similar “greener” vehicles in the future as others come up for replacement.

 Cable manufacturer and supplier Tratos will be running a free conference on Fibre to the Home (FTTH) on 20th May at its main headquarters in Arezzo, Italy.
The full day conference, which has been organised in conjunction with Tyco Electronics, features a range of topics and guest speakers, including Andrew Oliviero of OFS examining the latest developments in bend-insensitive fibres for FTTx applications and Jan Vandenbroek of Tyco Electronics looking at where we are now with FTTH and what the future holds. Other guest speakers come from Open Access Telecom Italia, TiLAB Telecom Italia and Fastweb S.p.A. The conference will be opened by Tratos Cavi President Albano Bragagni.
