Health & Safety becomes board responsibility at Tratos Print

Ing Elisabetta Bragagni Capaccini has been appointed Health & Safety Director at global cable manufacturer Tratos. Her appointment comes alongside the company raising H&S responsibilities to board level. A fully qualified electrical engineer, Ing Elisabetta Bragagni Capaccini is granddaughter of the company’s founder, Egidio Capaccini, and steps up from her role as the company’s health and safety officer at its Knowsley factory in Merseyside.

Working alongside UK health and safety consultants, ELAS, Ing Elisabetta Bragagni Capaccini, 33, will oversee the implementation of a rigorous programme of continuous improvement at Knowsley to reach ever higher safety standards that will be mirrored in its factories in Italy. The company is also working towards OHSAS 18001 at its UK and Italian operations.

Commenting upon the appointment Neil Ancell, Director of Tratos Ltd, said: “We believe the whole of the Tratos board should be responsible for setting the standard for effective health and safety management but at the same time one person needs to have complete focus, ownership and understanding of the issues involved. The position of Health & Safety Director is a pivotal role in any manufacturing company and here it will be an important building block as our business continues to grow globally.

Ing Elisabetta Bragagni Capaccini will ensure best practices for health and safety are stringently upheld and cement its place throughout the organisation as well as at the board table. Ing Elisabetta Bragagni Capaccini said: “This is about ensuring gold-standard practices are implemented from the top down and I am looking forward to applying my health and safety training and experience more widely throughout the company

The company celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016.
